A Second ChanceAfter leaving New York, I was fortunate to find a second chance at love, which was quite unexpected, given the tragic conclusion to my life in Brooklyn. When I met John, the father of my children, it was a whirlwind romance. Against all odds, and despite those who would have stopped us, we had a wonderful ten years together. Side by side, we built up a successful beef cattle farm and livery yard encompassing about 80 head of cattle, and nearly 40 stables - most of which John built himself. In the end, our basic cultural differences proved insurmountable. John is a Welsh speaking farmer with a proud family farming tradition of generations. Ultimately, despite my life with horses, I'm really still just a city girl from Brooklyn. With the best intentions, I suppose I proved a bit too independent for my own good, and for the good of the marriage. |
